Board of Directors

Bob Person, Board President
Helena, Montana

Bob volunteers regularly for MDF for programs relating to Montana native plants, and other nature-related topics. He is an active member of the Montana Native Plant Society. He teaches young students and at the Great Divide Ski Area and is a member of the Great Divide Ski Patrol. He also serves on the Boards of the Prickly Pear Land Trust and Helena Civic Television.

Roseva Guest
Canyon Creek, Montana

Roseva is a schoolteacher from the Wolf Creek school system. She lives at Canyon Creek and is an active member of the Canyon Creek Volunteer Fire Department. Her goal as a teacher is to enlighten student's lives to the environment around them through various means in the classroom and by the examples she sets in her life.

Terry Beaver
Helena, Montana

Terry was born, raised and educated in Helena and began his teaching career here in 1965. Subjects taught were advanced biology, environmental education, outdoor education and resource management as a residency program at the Mt. FWP Beartooth Ranch. He also coached high school basketball and track during his 37 year tenure as a teacher. Later, he served as an adjunct instructor of biology on the UM/Helena Campus for three years. Retiring from teaching in 2002, Terry went to work full-time for the Helena National Forest. He retired from this position in 2005 feeling truly blessed to have had to careers that he loved. Currently, he serves as a trustee on the Helena school board; and serving on the Board for MDF allows him to continue in both venues of lifelong interest.

Harlan Coverdell
Helena, Montana

Retired science teacher from Capital High School, Harlan is a current member of the Montana Mineral Society, avid outdoorsmen, and is committed to conservation education.

Currently, Helen administers the School-Age Child Care program through Helena School District #1. An active volunteer with MDF, she has shown strong commitment to conservation education and inspiring youth to gain interest in nature.

Darrell  is retired from the auto business in Helena. He is concerned with conservation education and resource management.

Mary Johnson
Helena, Montana

After raising three children and retiring from a career as teacher, administrator and corporate facilitator/trainer/quality manager, Mary has enjoyed being a community volunteer. She likes learning about and helping others appreciate the natural world around us. Her degree in zoology, experience as a master gardener with a keen interest in native plants and sustainable horticulture, and her current participation in the Master Forest Steward program run by MSU Extension provide a helpful background for her volunteer work with the Montana Discovery Foundation.

Mark Parker
Helena, Montana

Mark is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Carroll College, where he teaches a variety of courses in mathematical modeling and is active with the Carroll Adventure and Mountaineering Program (CAMP).  When not in the classroom, he enjoys climbing, hiking, skiing, and mountain biking around Helena.

Dennis M. Taylor

Dennis is a retired city manager and long time Montana state government administrator.  Currently serves on the Lewis & Clark-Helena planning board.  Concerned about natural resource protection, conservation education and outdoor recreation.

Amy Teegarden

After serving for a number of years as Public Affairs Officer for the Helena National Forest and liaison to the Foundation, Amy moved to the City of Helena as Director of the City's Parks and Recreation Department. Upon moving to the City, Amy agreed to continue helping the Foundation as a member of the board.
